Michel Grey
Founder, organizer, and facilitator
Michel founded Walking Soccer Austin to create a way to keep playing the game they love while making soccer more accessible to adults who do not fit conventional full-speed pickup.
Their approach is participant-centered: they listen closely to players, notice barriers to participation, and shape practical conditions that help people play with confidence. From pacing, equipment, and safety practices to communication and community partnerships, Michel works to widen access without stripping the game of its challenge, joy, or dignity.
Michel brings more than nine years of experience in youth soccer, including coaching children ages 2–8, coach coordination and training, site support, scheduling, and community-partner relationship work.
They also bring more than eleven years of life-coaching and client-centered support experience, including more than four years with a mental-health coaching organization.
As founder and facilitator, Michel develops Walking Soccer Austin’s play culture and safety practices; manages field rentals, equipment, finances, communications, outreach, social media, and event logistics; and builds the relationships that help the community grow at a sustainable pace.
